pizzaPizza Equipment & Supplies

That great day has arrived when you are all set with getting your own pizza store started! In order to start operations, the most critical aspect is to get the right equipment for your store, based on your carefully chalked out business plan. We guide you here on how to choose the best equipment as per your exact needs.

The equipment enlisted here will invariably be required for successful operations; Pizza Oven, Chip Scuttles, Electric and Counter-top fryers, Display Freezers, Display refrigerator, Preparation stations, Pizza Dough Roller, Vegetable Preparation, Refrigerated counter and prep counter, Knife sets, Pizza Dough Mixers, Ice cream machines and Stick blenders. This list contains all the important items, but it is not exhaustive and you might encounter the need for some more equipment based on your specific requirements.

With all the above, you need to put certain things into perspective when choosing what brand, or what kind of machinery you want. They are as follows:

Pizza Production

Selecting the right size

Keep yourself focussed on the quantity or the production that you want to start with. Low, medium and high levels of output will greatly influence the brand, power and other aspects of the machinery while considering a purchase.

Invest in pizza equipment you need the most

Buying a high output machine at the first go may not be advisable if you do not have an expansion plan within the year that you commence production. This is since, the return on investment will be much slower and also, the value of the machinery will depreciate by the time you begin to explore its capability.

Pizza Floor & Area

In a similar manner as above, evaluate the amount of floor space you have for your pizza store. This will dictate the kind of machinery, especially the oven that you can choose. For instance, for stores of a very small size, a convection oven would be a good idea, since it saves floor space to accommodate other equipment. For a slightly larger area, you could go in for deck ovens. If you have a generously available floor area, you can easily afford to put in a conveyor oven.

It always boils down to this, doesn’t it?! If you have a budget worked out, then it will become easy for you to place your requirement. Commercial convection ovens are usually the cheapest to buy and hence are a great option if you are on a super-tight budget. If you are a little more relaxed with the money, then you can go in for a conveyor or a deck oven, which will also take more space. Brick ovens are by far the most expensive, but they also serve a dual purpose of functionality as well as aesthetics. So even though the brick oven is the costliest, sometimes it can attract crowds just because it becomes the centrepiece of your store!

Pizza Styles

Different styles of pizza, such as the New York, Chicago, Neapolitan or Sicilian styles often require slightly different and specialized equipment. Convection and conveyor ovens suit the New York and Neapolitan styles, while a deck oven can accommodate most styles, crusts and toppings.
